Basil
Basil, as a culinary mainstay, especially in Thai cuisine, is a great alternative to coriander leaves. It does not taste exactly like cilantro. However, it may still be used in cuisines that call for cilantro. It has a rich flavor of licorice, star anise, black pepper, and mint notes that is incredibly fragrant and fresh. Basil leaves are significantly heavier than coriander or cilantro leaves and are almost never eaten uncooked.
It is, however, a versatile plant that may be readily sliced or torn. They, like cilantro, will soften and wilt during the cooking process. You may use dry basil for dried cilantro and fresh basil for fresh cilantro. But keep in mind that basil is more strong than cilantro, so the amount you use may need to be adjusted somewhat. Furthermore, basil can improve digestive health, reduce blood sugar, and defend against infections.
