BEAR MOUNTAIN
The ski resort known as Bear Mountain, originally known as Goldmine Mountain, opened its doors in 1969. Bear Mountain is the resort for you if your typical mountain day entails boosting airs and sliding rails. The three peaks that rise over the base area is home to a total of 14 terrain parks, with Bear Peak being the tallest at 8,805 feet. If you're a total beginner, you should explore elsewhere because just 15% of the terrain in this area is beginner-level. Bear Mountain is a part of the Big Bear Mountain Resort, thus if you purchase a lift ticket here, you can also ski at nearby Snow Summit.
There is no shortage of places to stay near Big Bear Lake, including lovely cabins, hotels, and an unending array of culinary options. Bear Peak, Silver Mountain, and Goldmine Mountain are the three primary peaks that make up Bear Mountain. The mountain, like almost all other Southern California ski resorts, relies mainly on artificial snowmaking with an average annual natural snowfall of 100 inches (250 cm). Bear Mountain has been a pioneer in both the development of terrain parks and freestyle ski and snowboarding since opening the first freestyle park in the early 1990s.
