MOUNTAIN HIGH
The San Gabriel Mountains in Los Angeles County, California, are home to the winter resort Mountain High resort. One of the most popular resorts in Southern California is Mountain High. West of Wrightwood, California, on State Route 2, the resort is situated.
Mountain High, one of the nation's first ski areas, is tucked away in the Angeles National Forest. Here, the first rope tow was made available to the public in 1937, and today there are 14 lifts that can carry skiers to a high elevation of 8,200 feet. The North, East, and West Resorts are separated by the skiable terrain and are connected by shuttle buses. The ski school is located in North Resort, open blue runs can be found in East Resort, while steep black runs and freestyle features can be found in West Resort. The North Pole Tubing Park is a blast for everyone, and the floodlit slopes here make it possible to ski after dark as well.
