Grain is a common ingredient in alcohol and other drinks. Malted wheat or barley is used to make beverages like beer and wine coolers, and these beverages nearly always include gluten. You must check your drinks before consuming them. Alcohols made from grains, such as whiskey, vodka, and gin, frequently include gluten and can be irritating to people who are allergic to the protein. Stick to alcohols made without grains or those that make it clear they are gluten-free if you are going gluten-free.
