Tendulkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna by the then-President of India, the late Pranab Mukherjee, in Rashtrapati Bhavan's Durbar Hall on February 4, 2014. Tendulkar became the first sportsperson and the youngest person to get the coveted honor after winning the Bharat Ratna.
