Indian Cricketer of the Year
After overcoming heavy competition from other short-list contenders like Virender Sehwag of India, Hashim Amla of South Africa, and England's Graeme Swann, the Little Master was awarded Cricketer of the Year. Sachin Tendulkar is the seventh player to receive the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy, after his People's Choice Award earlier in the evening.
Tendulkar was nominated by the general people, along with AB de Villiers of South Africa, Mahela Jayawardena of Sri Lanka, Michael Hussey of Australia, and England captain Andrew Strauss.
"I believe that right from the start of the season, when we won in Sri Lanka and I got a century in the finals, the season went off for us." We achieved No. 1 in the Test rankings, which was something we all wanted, and we've been able to sustain our results throughout the previous ten months. " "Winning both of these honors tonight, Cricketer of the Year and the LG People's Choice Award, is incredible, and it's the game's way of recognizing someone's accomplishments." It's fantastic to have two trophies in front of me, and I'm extremely pleased and thrilled." Tendulkar shared this after receiving the prize.
