Big Daddy
Sonny Koufax is a jobless man who lives a careless lifestyle. His life would have been a shambles if it hadn't been for the strange and zany advent of the youngster, Julian. Sonny's life became a succession of horrible jokes as he was forced to become a reluctant parent. Being a father is difficult, having to soothe a sobbing kid, changing diapers for children who wet the bed, feeding them, telling stories to their children every night, and, most importantly, becoming the person who is always there to teach them to adore and care for everyone around. The film is funny and charming, but it also offers many important life lessons.
Big Daddy, directed by Dennis Dugan, was embroiled in a series of debates over the subjects addressed in the film, such as the manner of training children, the issue of sexism, and so on. Despite this, it still was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award in 2000. Big Daddy was one of the top ten highest-grossing pictures of 1999, was dubbed "Sandler's greatest film" and is one of the most-reviewed family films of the last decade.
