Jonah contacted the radio station on Christmas Eve to tell them about his family history and his wish to locate his father a new wife (see trailer).
Thousands of ladies from all around the country listened to the boy's sobbing. Soon after, more than 2,000 phone calls and letters poured into Sam's father and son's home. But Sam was unconcerned, and he told his son not to waste any more time on it. Jonah still reads the letter every day, and the young woman Annie's letter piques his attention. The strong love that Jonah has for his father has brought Sam and the youngster great joy.
