British School of Bucharest
Leading international school the British School of Bucharest (BSB) offers EYFS, Primary, and Secondary schooling with IGCSEs to A-Levels. The school offers a comprehensive international education based on the National Curriculum for England.
At BSB, more than 650 students from more than 60 different countries make up this vibrantly diverse learning community. Pupils gain from small class sizes and an excellent student-to-teacher ratio, which guarantees a customized and very supportive learning environment provided by English-speaking teachers.
In consecutive inspections by the UK International School Inspectorate (ISI) in 2018 and 2022, The British School of Bucharest was the only British school in Romania to receive a rating of 'excellent' in every category. The greatest rating that can be obtained following an ISI inspection is "excellent."
Play is a big part of an EYFS education at the British School of Bucharest. The dynamic learning opportunities that native English-speaking teachers design are based on the academic, social, and personal needs of the kids. Specific learning areas with educational materials to stimulate all senses are found in the classrooms and outdoor playgrounds. These materials include sand, water, playdough, construction materials, books, technology, and musical instruments.
The British School of Bucharest's Primary program offers a thorough and well-rounded curriculum that gives kids plenty of chances to form positive learning attitudes early in their school careers. The school emphasizes literacy and numeracy throughout Key Stages 1 and 2, following the British Curriculum for Primary School, which is taught exclusively in English.
The British School of Bucharest offers a wide range of extracurricular activities to supplement the Primary curriculum. These include the BSB University program, day and overnight trips, interschool competitions, and other events that let students discover their passions and strengths while honing important life skills.
Teachers and staff help secondary students prepare for their Key Stage 4 GCSE and IGCSE by helping them develop a genuine curiosity and love of learning. They also work closely with students on a social, emotional, and personal level.
The British School of Bucharest encourages students to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom by offering rigorous and challenging academic instruction for Key Stages 3 through 5. This instruction is supplemented by a variety of extracurricular activities.
Students must first complete the IGCSE/GCSE courses in Key Stage 4 as their equivalent before moving on to A-level coursework. They must receive the grades required in the A-level subjects they have chosen, as well as at least five IGCSE/GCSE passes at C and above. Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced (A2) courses make up the two-year duration of all A-level courses.
