Camel Wrestling
Camel wrestling isn't as popular as it once was in Turkey, and it's now mostly limited to the country's Aegean area, along the western and west seacoasts. A camel wrestling event is held in January at Ephesus, one of Turkey's most well-known ancient sites. Usually, a pair of male camels, known as bulls, compete for the attention of a stunning female camel, known as a cow. This is one of Turkey's most popular events.
