Cartier
At first, Cartier was just a small jewelry store located in Paris, France. In 1847, 28-year-old silversmith Louis - François Cartier took over the jewelry store of his mentor Adolphe Picard in Paris and founded the Cartier company. Before that, he had acquired all the skills handed down by Adolphe Picard and became a jeweler.
In 1874, his son Louis – Francois Alfred joined the Cartier brand, the growing watch business. He decided to expand the line of mandarin watches, wristwatches, and wall clocks for the family brand. This is one of those rare brands where members of the same family take over. Although Alfred Cartier was credited with bringing the watch line to life at Cartier, it was his three children – Louis, Pierre, and Jacques – who made Cartier a global brand. Specifically, Pierre - Camille manages the work in New York, while Louis - Joseph manages the work in Paris and Jacques - Theodule handles the work in London.
Cartier is the 7th luxury fashion brand in the world, with a total brand value of $6.3 billion. The company has more than 200 stores worldwide and operates in more than 125 countries.
