Celeste
In Somerville's Union Square, Celeste, an Eater Boston Restaurant of the Year, is a charming little restaurant serving excellent Peruvian cuisine in an area that, to be fair, already has enough Peruvian options. That is one of the Best Restaurants in Boston. For flavorful lomo saltado, vibrant ceviche, and the experience of sipping pisco as a distinguished guest at the merry-go-round dinner party of co-founders Juan Ma Calderon and Maria Rondeau, go to Celeste. All of the other places are worthy of stops as well.
Creating a distinct experience that combines outstanding food, the ideal drink, and a special setting that emphasizes challenging design, art, and music is the goal of friends' joint endeavor Celeste. Ancient Peruvian recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation are used to prepare the food, which is prepared with affection and serves to highlight the diversity of a culture. Celeste offers late-afternoon aperitivos, supper with daily specials, a late-night menu, a complete bar with a focus on pisco, mezcal, and locally brewed craft beers that go well with our food, as well as late-night dining. Celeste have produced an audiovisual guide to the origins of Andean and Peruvian culture, including its music, art, and cuisine, in collaboration with musicians and artists.
