Central Radio and TV Tower - China
Central Radio & TV Tower, full name is CCTV Tower Beijing TV Tower, is a television tower of China Central station, located in Beijing. The tower was designed by architect Snoeren in 1980, started construction in 1987, and was completed and put into use 5 years later in 1992. The tower housed broadcasting equipment for the Television Station. In the shape of central China, it is located in the Haidian district of Beijing, close to Gongzhufen subway station and Yuyugean park.
The CCTV headquarters is currently based in Chaoyang district, designed by Rem Koolhaas in late 2009. A race to the top of the tower is held every year with two laps of the base, followed by a climb to 1,484 Steps leading to the observation deck.
Central Radio & TV Tower has a height of 405 m with a total area of 60,000 m2. The tower can be divided into four main areas, including the structure of the restaurant and the observatory, and the shopping mall. This is the tallest tower in Beijing, also a tourist attraction. If you want to visit this place, you can admire the outside view of the city from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.
