Oriental Pearl - China
Oriental Pearl Tower, also known as Mingzhou TV tower, is a TV tower located on the Huangpu River, Pudong District, Shanghai, China. This tower was started construction in 1991 and completed in 1995, is the third tallest tower in Asia. Oriental Pearl Tower was designed by architect Jia Huan Cheng with the idea taken from the poem Tang Sing toads and beehives. The tower is 468 m high, including 14 floors.
A special feature in this design is the three spheres located on the tower body. The two larger ones are 50 and 45 meters in diameter, respectively, while the smaller one is on the top with a diameter of 14 meters.
The tower has 3 observation floors located at 90m, 263m, and 350m high, respectively. Inside the tower, there are also structures such as exhibition halls, restaurants, and shopping centers. There is a revolving restaurant at an altitude of 267 meters and 20 hotel rooms called the Space Hotel between two large spheres. Every year, Oriental Pearl Tower attracts 3 million visitors. If you want to visit this structure, you can enter from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily for $19 per person.
