Chimeak drinking culture

In recent years, Chimaek drinking culture is a very popular trend in Korea. Chimeak is a word derived from the combination of the word "chi" (치) in "chikin" (치킨, meaning chicken) and "maek" (맥) in "maekju" (맥주, meaning beer). Fried chicken was introduced to Korea during the Korean War by American soldiers. In the beginning, Koreans only used to eat spicy fried chicken or BBQ Chicken, but after the fried chicken was introduced, this dish is increasingly being distributed and developed according to the taste of Korean people. Although fried chicken is only recently known and developed for more than 30 years, this dish has become an impossible dish for Korean people.

In particular, in recent years, the combination of fried chicken and beer has become a trend around the world. A portion of crispy fried chicken with a cold beer will be a great choice to share with friends and colleagues.

In 2002, the Korean football team reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup and created a wave across the country. From there, Chimaek drinking culture began to be popular, especially on days with sports matches, parties and even simply because of a bad day.

Chimaek is really a great creation of Korean cuisine for those passionate about food. However, because both fried chicken and beer are not nutritious foods, you should maintain a balanced menu.
