South Korea has the biggest drinking culture in Asia
Another interesting thing about Korea that can be seen as a downside here is that Koreans love drinking. According to a 2017 study conducted by the World Health Organization, the average Korean over 15 years old drinks nearly 11 liters of alcohol per year. Most of their holidays feature soju, a 19% alcohol-based fermented rice drink that's very popular in Korea.
When you come to Korea, you will find that there are many pubs open all night, or in restaurants, alcohol is also served a lot. Recently, in Korea, there was a movie called "Work Later, Drink Now". The film is about single, independent women in their 30s, during the day So Hee, Ji Yeon and Ji Gu bury their heads at work, but when night falls they gather to enjoy a cold beer or soju through the night, the end of a busy day. You can see them drinking a lot of alcohol. So it can be said that this is just a movie but it is reflecting the truth about Korea. It can be seen that Koreans drink a lot and many people drink it daily as an indispensable drink.
