Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Barbarian, directed by John Milius and written by Milius and Oliver Stone, is a 1982 American epic sword and sorcery film. The film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and James Earl Jones and is based on Robert E. Howard's novel Conan. It follows the story of Conan (Schwarzenegger), a barbarian warrior who seeks vengeance for the death of his parents at the hands of Thulsa Doom (Jones), the head of a serpent cult.
Universal Pictures released Conan the Barbarian in North America and 20th Century Fox in other markets. The film was a commercial success for its investors, making between $68.9 million and $79.1 million at worldwide box offices against a $20 million budget. The film also earned Schwarzenegger worldwide recognition.
