Culture
In Pakistani culture, it is common for women to avoid interacting with strangers. So, if they avoid speaking to you, don't be embarrassed. Business typically moves slowly and is frequently preceded by a lot of socializing, drinking tea, and family gatherings. Rushing to the point could be seen as impolite and possibly damage the relationship.
In Pakistan, a conservative nation, it is common for women to appear in public wearing long skirts or pants (Pakistani women typically don the traditional shalwar kameez). However, it's not uncommon to see women in khakis and jeans in big cities, particularly in casual situations like shopping centers and picnic areas.
Although shorts are rarely worn, men's dress regulations are more relaxed. Never contact or shake hands with a woman you don't know well, men. Use your right hand to eat, shake hands, give or receive anything (including money), as is customary throughout most of South Asia. Save your left hand for handling shoes and helping with bathroom tasks.
