Danish School of Media and Journalism
The Danish School of Media and Journalism, or DMJX for short, is a Danish organization that provides higher education in media and journalism as well as a knowledge center. DMJX is divided into two campuses, one in Copenhagen and the other in Aarhus. The Centre for University Studies in Journalism, which offers master's courses at the university level, was founded in 2004 by DMJX and Aarhus University.
In January 2008, the Danish School of Media and Journalism merged two formerly autonomous organizations and institutions in Aarhus and Copenhagen. The Danish School of Journalism, which is located in Aarhus, was founded in 1946. In 1973, the school relocated to Christiansbjerg, and in 2020, it relocated to its current location on Katrinebjerg. The Media School, located in Emdrup, is the Copenhagen department, which was founded in 1943.
The Danish School of Journalism in Aarhus is Denmark's oldest and largest journalism-related educational school. Kjaer & Richter, a local architectural firm, designed the school's original premises in the Christiansbjerg district in 1973. It was located close to Danmarks Radio's Aarhus branch in Commercial Park Skejby, a prominent business neighborhood in Aarhus.
