Dotorimuk
Dotorimuk is the name of a jelly made from acorn starch, which originated in the mountainous regions of Korea in ancient times.
Although jelly dishes are not too strange, the processing of jelly from acorn starch is probably only Korean. Because so far, acorns have only been known as a food for squirrels. The oak seeds used for Dotorimuk will be cooked, crushed starch and carefully refined to remove some harmful substances. Initially, people will mix this starch with water, then stir it on the stove until the mixture is sticky. In particular, Koreans do not use Dotorimuk jelly for sweet dishes, but all are savory dishes, combining many sour, spicy, and different ingredients.
Koreans not only love Dotorimuk because of the dew of taste but also largely because of the nutrition of this unique jelly such as having a fever, reducing fatigue, recharging energy, relieving diarrhea, dysentery, and healthy stomach.
