Hongeo
Korea is known as a country with a diverse and delicious culinary culture. Besides the national treasures like Kimchi, Bibimbap, there are still a few dishes that are enough to make people "sweat". We invite you to get to know more about Hongeo, an exotic Korean food.
Hongeo, also known as Hongeo Hoe, is an extremely popular dish in Korea. Made from fermented stingray, Hongeo is considered one of the best Korean dishes to date. Koreans use simpler engineering that is to put the stingray in the freezer for 1 month to let it ferment naturally. Wait until the fermented stingray has reached the highest level of odor, then Koreans will bring the fish out and cut it into thin slices to eat raw. Hongeo is usually served with boiled pork, kimchi, garlic, chili, soy sauce...
This dish is compared to have a strong taste like urine, the smell emanating from the dish made many people not want to go near it or to put it in their mouths but once you taste it a few times, you will be addicted to it.
