Douyu
A Chinese live streaming video service is called DouYu. With 163.6 million monthly active users in 2019, more than Twitch's 140 million, the website is the biggest of its sort in China. DouYu International Holdings Ltd. listed on the New York Stock Exchange (Nasdaq) in July 2019 and raised $21 million through an American initial public offering (IPO). The company's ticker symbol is DOYU. It was the biggest Wall Street IPO of a Chinese company in 2019.
Douyu generated $21 million in revenue from advertisements in 2018. About 21% of the shares are owned by Tencent. Platform for gaming livestreaming that will soon combine with Huya (see above). The 150 million users, mostly Gen-Z males, of Douyu will be included in the new combined company. It's interesting to note that more than half of users reside in premier cities and are migratory workers.
The market capitalization of DouYu as of March 2023 was $0.39 billion. By market cap, this places DouYu as the 5575th most valuable firm in the entire globe. The most recent financial filings from DouYu indicate that the company's current revenue (TTM) is $1.17 billion. The company generated $1.41 billion in revenue in 2021, up from $1.39 billion in revenue in 2020.
