Chinese technology company Meitu Inc. was founded in 2008 and has its headquarters in Xiamen, Fujian. It creates apps for selfies and smartphones. In China and other Asian nations, Meitu's smartphone photo-editing and sharing app is extremely well-liked, with 456 million users who upload more than 6 billion photographs each month.

Almost 1.1 billion different devices had Meitu's apps installed as of October 31, 2016, throughout the world. Meitu, along with other global Internet juggernauts like Alibaba, Apple, Baidu, Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and Tencent, has reportedly been consistently recognized as one of the top eight iOS non-game app developers globally from June 2014 through October 2016.

Their most popular app, MeituPic, has 270 million MAU and 52 million active daily users. Meitu went public on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on December 15, 2016. A technology offering of this size has not appeared on the Hong Kong Exchange in almost ten years.
