El Mercado
El Mercado, one of three restaurants in Lima run by Rafael Osterling (with Latin America's 50 Best regular Rafael and Felix Brasserie also in the city), serves Peru's finest seafood with a contemporary flare. The interior courtyard dining room at El Mercado has a sleek, laid-back style, where the city's coolest – and wealthiest – citizens gather every day for lunch.
The ceviches are among the city's best, and the rest of the ethically sourced fish dishes, such as scallops served three ways or octopus, are also winners. To escape the lines, arrive early and take a seat at the cocktail bar for a pisco punch.
El Mercado is a well-known Peruvian restaurant located near several beautiful parks and the coast. A gorgeous cocktail bar, a sophisticated environment with contemporary elements, a relaxed ambiance, and the freshest seafood dishes can all be found here. For pasta fans, the Ravioli de Langostinos is a must-try. Squid, yellow chile, shrimp, an Andean cheese coral sauce, and broad beans make up this dish. Order the Aji de Gallina, a typical Peruvian dish. It is a spicy chicken stew with farm-fresh eggs, yellow chiles, roasted potatoes, and Aspitia olives.
