FanMail - TLC
TLC's third studio album, FanMail, is their third studio album. LaFace and Arista Records released it on February 23, 1999. TLC's fans who wrote them fan letters during their break inspired the album's title. FanMail opened at number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States, selling 318,000 copies in its first week and staying there for five weeks.
At the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, the album got eight nominations, including one for Album of the Year, and won three. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified it six times platinum, and it has sold 10 million copies worldwide. TLC's second best-selling album, following CrazySexyCool, was released in 1994. TLC went on their first concert tour, dubbed the FanMail Tour, to promote the record. It was the group's final album published during Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' lifetime since she died in a vehicle accident on April 25, 2002, just days before their fourth studio album 3D was released (2002).
