Foroglio Waterfall
With the main viewpoint located immediately next to the parking lot and bus station, the enormous Foroglio waterfall close to Locarno in southern Switzerland is simple to get to. With three routes to choose from, there is something for everyone here: a quick stroll to the river flowing from the walls, a quick, steep hike to the foot of the falls, and an hour-long climb to a high alpine valley at the top of the falls and walk along the river feeding the falls. This is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Switzerland.
The Foroglio Waterfall, which cascades down a 108-meter-high cliff into the Val Calnegia and is accessible from Foroglio, is a breathtaking sight. A walking route that follows the concept of "Taking the cows up the mountain in the Bavona valley" starts in the towns of Cavergno and Bignasco and leads visitors in stages along the valley floor to the Terra di Foroglio, Pontido, and alpine meadows at elevations of more than two thousand meters. The seasonal movements of its people have significantly influenced the history of the Bavona valley, as they have in other mountain valleys. You may still plainly detect the aftereffects of this practice and human traces in the Bavona valley.
