Piumogna Waterfall
In the Swiss canton of Ticino, Piumogna is a gorgeous waterfall that lies close to the town of Faido. Take exit 43 for Faido when traveling on Interstate 2 and adhere to the Faido signs. Go left in the direction of the river after the Agip tank station. You already have a beautiful glimpse of Cascata Piumogna as you go closer to the river.
It is easily accessible on foot, with parking spaces close by, and is a must-see destination for nature enthusiasts spending time in Leventina, even if only for a few hours. Visitors may view a spectacular display of natural beauty in total safety as a suspension bridge crosses the creek that gives this wild cascade its name.
For your leisurely lunch break, you will undoubtedly appreciate the picnic area with tables. Or, for those who are feeling more daring, you can hike up the mountain on a designated track and see additional breathtaking waterfalls. Only the most experienced climbers can reach the summer stream source by taking alternate routes, and they will undoubtedly value a rest at Campo Tencia hut. At 2,482 meters above sea level, the Piumogna rises from a tiny pond with the surface size of a bedroom.
