Golden Sand Beach
Golden Sand Beach is Huangdao's most popular and largest beach in Eastern China. It has always been a popular vacation spot for both locals and visitors. The coast resembles a large crescent (3500 m long and 300 m broad) of golden soft sand. There is a fairly easy way to get into the seawater, with no sudden drops in depth or rocks at the bottom. Golden Sand is open to the public and is free to enter. It's ideal for a peaceful beach vacation as well as sporting activities. During the peak season, it is extremely congested.
There are restrooms, showers, and the option to rent gazebos and picnic tables. There are numerous kiosks selling traditional foods and beverages. On the beach, you can also purchase beach accessories and souvenirs. There are several large hotels within walking reach of the beach, which is around 4-5 kilometers away.
The famed beer festival, which takes place on the beach from July 15 to August 7, celebrates Chinese brewed beer as well as numerous international brands.
Many interesting objects are located in Qingdao (about 10-15 km from the beach):
- Aquarium;
- Xiaoyushan Park;
- St. Michael’s Cathedral.
So, if you are in China looking for a beach, beer and party vibe, then Golden Sand Beach is your place.
