Tianya Haijiao

Picturesque Tianya Haijiao Beach is located in the western part of Sanya.. The beach is lined by a variety of sized boulders, two of which are etched with Chinese characters that translate to "the ends of the world." According to legend, a young couple from opposing clans fell in love and fled to Tianya Haijiao to avoid the violence at home. The couple swore to love each other forever at the "end of the earth," but troops from respective tribes discovered them and forced the lovers to plunge into the raging waves. Two of the boulders at Haijiao are thought to be the couple in a different shape, permanently side by side, facing the sea.

Nowadays, Tianya Haijiao is a popular choice for couples who want to hold their wedding in the romantic setting of an exotic island. An international wedding celebration and a national lantern's festival are held every year. The sand is golden and silky on Tianya Haijiao, and the waves crashing on the shore have a beautiful blue colour. This is a must-see for surfers: the underwater environment will astonish you with its gorgeous corals and flocks of exotic species.

Attractions enthusiasts can visit the "Edge of the World" Park, which is a unique attraction. They can observe massive blocks of stone (each with its own name and legend) as well as marvel ark art masterpieces-creative shrub sculptures.
