Grape Harvest Festival
The Grape Harvest Festival is Chile's famous festival because Chilean wine is world-renowned, and so the grape harvest festival, or "Vendimias," is an important tradition. The festivals take place during the last week of March to May when the grapes ripen after summer. Rural towns across central Chile celebrate the festival with a religious ceremony to bless the first batch of grapes. A grape queen was then chosen, who weighed in with a bottle of wine, and groups of locals entered a grapefishing contest to see who could crush the most juice out of 20 kilograms of fruit in a single day. And large quantities of Wine were also consumed to celebrate Chile's bountiful production.
Grape Harvest Festival is not only a famous festival in Chile, it is also an indispensable name in the list of beer festivals in the world. Thanks to this famous festival, Chile attracts more tourists every year.
