Greetsiel
A little town in East Frisia called Greetsiel is located very near to the Netherlands. A lovely village, regarded as one of the most attractive on the German coast, was shaped by contact between the two sides of the border.
The Leyhörn Nature Reserve is nearby, in addition to the port area. Because of its remote location, it has managed to preserve its natural beauty and fishing-village atmosphere.
On the East Frisian coast's Leybucht, a little bay, is where Greetsiel is located. Greetsiel is currently the sole port in the bay because significant portions of it were over time reclaimed behind dykes. The Leybuchthörn was finished in the 1990s.
This building juts out into the Wadden Sea like a spit. A reservoir and the approach canal from the North Sea into Greetsiel Harbour are both located within the Leybuchthörn (Greetsieler Hafen). A lock separates the port from the ocean. Since the building was finished, Greetsiel Harbour has been reachable from the water, regardless of the tide. Emden and Norden, the two closest towns, are separated by 15-20 kilometres (9.3-12.4 mi), or north and south, respectively.
