Neuharlingersiel

Germany's Lower Saxony region includes the municipality of Neuharlingersiel in the Wittmund district. The picturesque fishing town of Neuharlingersiel is a favorite of painters. It serves as the backdrop for the German-language season of the British television series Doc Martin.

Doktor Martin, a German remake of the original series, is portrayed by Berlin-based surgeon Doktor Martin Helling by actor Axel Milberg on ZDF. The actual settlement of Neuharlingersiel in East Frisia served as Portwenn's equivalent.

This small town, which is regarded as one of Germany's most picturesque coastal communities, has some wonderful surprises in store for tourists, including a breathtaking vantage point over the canal and a port that leads out to the sea. One of the typical stops on North Sea excursions is its port.

A painting by an impressionist artist might easily pass for the magnificent scene made up of the row of buildings and boats. Although the beach area is not particularly large, it is sufficient to take in the views of the North Sea. The Buddelschiffmuseum, which has hundreds of miniature ship reproductions preserved in bottles, must be visited. They have the legacy that Dutch artists and commercials left behind in the town at the Haus des Gastes am Sielhof museum.
