Gymage Miami
Is this the gym of future? Billed as a lifestyle resort, Gymage has selfie sticks, LifeFitness equipment, Hammer Strength plates, and more. It’s a beautiful place to work out, complete with pops of color, vibrant lights, and live plants. Gymage opened in August 2021, with plans for a rooftop lounge and restaurant in 2022. Memberships here span from day, week, and two-week passes to monthly options. There is now a gym where it’s not only acceptable but encouraged to take your 7,000 sweaty-ass selfies.
Laughing in the face of gyms that ask you to put your damn phone down while working out, Gymage - a portmanteau of words gym and image - has opened in Miami Beach. Billing itself as “Miami’s newest Instagrammable gym” for “social-fitness lifestyle,” the futuristic spot very much has a vibe. Selfie sticks, ring lights, and tripods abound. Ultramodern design elements swirl about ceiling. Plants pop up here and there. And lighting is primed. This celebrity-endorsed boot camp, which has slimmed and toned the likes of Kim Kardashian and Jake Gyllenhaal, was a natural fit for South Beach with its slew of sexy trainers and taut-and-trim clients whose good looks only rival their stamina in class. Workouts are broken up into sections - treadmill and weight training to target different muscle groups happen simultaneously - and are led by tough but encouraging instructors who remarkably keep tabs on both halves of the class without ever skipping a beat. If 30 minutes of running at top speeds wear you out, recharge at the juice bar before crawling back to your car.
