Harry Potter Franchise
Harry Potter is a film series based on J. K. Rowling's namesake novels. Beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and ending with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, the series is released by Warner Bros. and comprises eight fantasy films (2011).
The major plot followed Harry's journey to defeat his arch-enemy, Lord Voldemort. The seventh and final chapter of the book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, was turned into two feature-length films. Part 1 came out in November 2010, and Part 2 came out in July 2011. Deathly Hallows – Part 1, Philosopher's Stone, and Deathly Hallows – Part 2 are among the top 50 grossing films of all time, with Philosopher's Stone and Deathly Hallows – Part 2 making over $1 billion. With $7.7 billion in worldwide earnings before inflation, it is the third highest-grossing film series.
