The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

The Lord of the Rings is a series of epic fantasy adventure films directed by Peter Jackson and based on J. R. R. Tolkien's novel. The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002), and The Return of the King (2003) are the titles of the three films (2003). The films are set in the fictitious Middle-earth and follow the story of a meek hobbit of The Shire and eight companions setting out on a journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring and the dark lord Sauron.
