Hunter X Hunter
Yoshihiro Togashi is the author and illustrator of the Japanese manga series Hunter. Since March 1998, it has been published in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump, while the manga has regularly been on hiatus since 2006. As of October 2018, its chapters had been compiled in 36 tanks on volumes.
The plot revolves around a young boy named Gon Freecss, who discovers that his father, who abandoned him when he was young, is a world-renowned Hunter, a licensed professional who specializes in fantastical pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals. Gon sets out on a mission to become a Hunter and, ultimately, discover his father. Gon departs on a journey to become a Hunter and eventually finds his father. Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and encounters the paranormal.
Hunter Hunter was converted into a 62-episode anime television series directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi and produced by Nippon Animation, which aired on Fuji Television from October 1999 to March 2001. As the overwhelming favorite in the Ranker poll, Hunter x Hunter is well-deserving of its top spot. This series originally aired in Japan in 1999 before a hard reboot in 2011 that only hit English airwaves in 2016. As such, it is at the forefront of many anime fans’ minds and is one of the most prominent shounen anime right now.
