PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk has, over the course of several decades, undergone a process of gradual transformation in order to become a Total Food Solutions firm. Lambang Insan Makmur, the predecessor to Indofood, started selling instant noodles in 1968, and the company's namesake brand, Indomie, was introduced the following year in 1972. On August 14, 1990, the business underwent a reorganization and became known as PT Panganjaya Intikusuma. The firm changed its name to PT Indofood Sukses Makmur in 1994, and on July 14, 1994, it became publicly traded on the Indonesian Stock Exchange under its new name.
