Telkom Indonesia
Telkom is the short form for PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, which is an Indonesian multinational telecommunications company also known simply as Telkom. Telkom is now traded on both the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange; the latter serves as its secondary listing. 47.91% of Telkom's total current shares are held by the Indonesian government.
Fixed line telephone, internet service provision, and data communications are three of Telkom's primary areas of operations. It functions as the parent company of the Telkom Group, which is involved in a diverse variety of companies including telecommunications, multimedia, real estate, and financial services. Telkom Indonesia has been making changes to its business focus, infrastructure, processes, organization, and human resources, as well as the culture of the company; since the year 2008, all in an effort to keep up with the growing amount of competitors.
The activities of TelkomGroup expand and change in step with the development of new technology, information, and digitalization while being firmly rooted in the fields of telecommunications and information technology. This is obvious in the latest developed business lines, which expanded to telecommunications, information technology services, media and edutainment; but all of them are complements to the company’s existing legacy business.
