Jaljeera
Jaljeera is a popular and flavorful Indian beverage that is known for its refreshing and tangy taste. The name "Jaljeera" is derived from two Hindi words: "jal," meaning water, and "jeera," meaning cumin. This aptly describes one of its ingredients, roasted cumin seeds, which impart a distinct flavor to the drink.
This spice mix includes black salt, dry mango powder (amchur), black peppercorns, mint leaves, and others. This masala is ground into a fine powder.
A few teaspoons of Jaljeera Masala are mixed with cold water and stirred well. Some recipes may also call for the addition of tamarind pulp or lemon juice to enhance the tartness. Ice cubes are often added to make it extra refreshing. The resulting Jaljeera is a savory and slightly spicy drink with a tangy and cooling feel.
Jaljeera is not only enjoyed as a drink but also as a base for other popular Indian drinks like "Panipuri" and "Golgappa." Additionally, it has the ability to aid digestion, particularly in Indian cuisine.
