Jang Ok-jung Living by Love (2013)
Jang Ok Jung's Love Story, which is based on the novel by author Choi Jung Mi, recounts the life of Jang Hui Bin, a lady who entered the palace to produce cosmetics and clothing during the Joseon Dynasty. Kim Tae Hee, Yoo Ah In, Hong Soo Hyun, and Jae Hee all appear in the movie.
In the movie, Jang Ok Jung (played by Kim Tae Hee), one of the most well-known concubines of the Joseon Dynasty, and Emperor Lee Soon experience a charming but sad love (played by Yoo Ah In). Yoo Ah In has portrayed a monarch who only values his country, uses marriage as a political tool and ultimately falls in love with Jang Ok Jung as the only exception to his existence so masterfully.
The storyline of Yoo Ah In's movie starts with Jang Ok Jung's life. Her family fled from slave hunters as a teenager. Her sibling went missing, her father was murdered, and her mother, a slave, was given back to her owner during this escape. Jang Ok Jung then moved in with a family friend. At Madame Jung Kang's fabric store, she picked up sewing. When she was a little girl, she unintentionally ran across Crown Prince Lee Soon while hiding from the rain. The two afterward experienced a sincere but difficult love...
