Voice of Silence (2020)
Yoo Ah In won the Korean Emperor's Award in 2020 for his performance of Tae In in Voice of Silence at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. Hong Eui Jung, who also received the Blue Dragon Award for Best New Director, is the director of this Korean crime drama. The movie's compelling plot keeps viewers from taking their eyes off the screen, and the dramatic conclusion leaves them feeling very affected.
Two characters who work for criminal groups, Tae-In (Yoo Ah-In) and Chang-Bok (Yoo Jae-Myung), are central to the movie. One day, Yong Seok hired them to complete a task. This allowed Tae-In and Chang-Bok to find the kidnapped 11-year-old Cho-Hee. They intend to take Cho-Hee to Yong-Seok the following day, but they learn the terrible news that Yong-Seok was found dead. Tae-In and Chang-Bok then start their investigation to uncover the secret truth.
Yoo Ah In takes on the role of Tae In in the film "Voice of Silence", a nice and loving but stupid guy who specializes in handling crime scenes. Yoo Ah In's performance is entirely based on talking eyes, body language, and gesture lines because Tae In's role lacks dialogue. Yoo Ah In had to gain up to 15 kg for the role, shave his head, and completely transform his appearance, shocking the audience.
