Former Australian cricketer Jeffrey Robert Thomson (born August 16, 1950) is considered as one of the fastest bowlers in cricket history, known as " Thommo."

He opened with fellow fast bowler Dennis Lillee, and their partnership was one of the most terrifying in Test cricket history. "It was easy to think they were the fastest pair ever to have coincided in a cricket team" Wisden remarked of their bowling during the 1974–75 season.

Due to his quickest delivery of 160.6 km/h against the West Indies in Perth in 1975, he is ranked fourth on this list of the top ten fastest bowlers. Thompson was well-known for his slinging delivery technique. He was one of the most visually appealing bowlers of his generation. Apart from that, he and his teammate Dennis Lillee were one of the most effective opening bowling combinations.
