Johnny Cay
This is the kind of place that comes to mind when you think of paradise. Johnny Cay is a must-see beach in Colombia, with its palm trees, white sand, and calm surf. This little island is located in the San Andrés and Providencia archipelago, right opposite San Andres Town, and is accessible by a short boat journey from the mainland.
Johnny Cay is actually part of a regional park, and there is a modest cost to enter, but once there, you are free to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. The fine white sand and the warmth of the clear waters have a refreshing effect, and even though it might become a little crowded here during peak season, you can always find a spot for yourself.
Rent a sun lounger for the day and enjoy freshly prepared cuisine prepared by one of the island's chefs. The Johnny Cay island is so small that it just takes about half an hour to round it. When it's time to return to your accommodation on the mainland, simply get a boat back around 4 p.m., when the park closes.
