King Saud University
King Saud University (KSU) is a public university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1957 as Riyadh University by King Saud bin Abdulaziz as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's first university. The institution was established to address Saudi Arabia's need of trained professionals. In 1982, it was renamed King Saud University
KSU now has a student body of 40,000 male and female students, including 7% of international students. Female students have their own disciplinary panel, and there is a center that monitors their progress, either physically by female faculty members or via a restricted television network by male faculty members. Many of the university's courses are tuition-free, and it provides courses in natural sciences, humanities, and professional studies. Depending on the major, undergraduate programs use English or Arabic as the language of teaching. Its medical programs are well rated among Arab colleges.
Undergraduate courses in scientific sciences, social sciences, humanities, and professional studies are available at the institution. For Saudi and foreign students, tuition is absolutely free, and numerous scholarships are offered. English and Arabic are the languages of instruction in undergraduate programs. If the applicant is from a non-Arabic speaking country, they must pass an Arabic exam. The Languages Unit provides English language assistance at all levels.
