  1. King Saud University (KSU) is a public university in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1957 as Riyadh University by King Saud bin Abdulaziz as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's first university. The institution was established to address Saudi Arabia's need of trained professionals. In 1982, it was renamed King Saud University

    KSU now has a student body of 40,000 male and female students, including 7% of international students. Female students have their own disciplinary panel, and there is a center that monitors their progress, either physically by female faculty members or via a restricted television network by male faculty members. Many of the university's courses are tuition-free, and it provides courses in natural sciences, humanities, and professional studies. Depending on the major, undergraduate programs use English or Arabic as the language of teaching. Its medical programs are well rated among Arab colleges.


    Undergraduate courses in scientific sciences, social sciences, humanities, and professional studies are available at the institution. For Saudi and foreign students, tuition is absolutely free, and numerous scholarships are offered. English and Arabic are the languages of instruction in undergraduate programs. If the applicant is from a non-Arabic speaking country, they must pass an Arabic exam. The Languages Unit provides English language assistance at all levels.

  2. The King Abdullah Institution of Science and Technology (KAUST) is a Saudi Arabian private research university in Thuwal. The institution, which was founded in 2009, offers research and graduate training programs in English as the primary language of teaching.


    KAUST is Saudi Arabia's first mixed-gender university campus. In 2013, the institution was ranked among the world's top 500 research and citation records. The institution was placed 19th in the world of the fastest emerging universities for high quality research output in the 2016 Nature Index Rising Stars. Since 2015, KAUST has been listed as the eighth fastest growing young university (aged 50 and under) in terms of research output, as evaluated by fractional count (FC).


    KAUST is Saudi Arabia's first mixed-gender university campus. The Saudi government hopes that the mixed-gender institution will contribute to the modernization of the Kingdom's very traditional society. On-site religious police are not present. In coeducational sessions, women are not compelled to wear veils and are permitted to mix freely with males.


    KAUST is the world's biggest LEED Platinum campus and Saudi Arabia's first LEED certified project. It was also named one of the 2010 Top Ten Green Projects by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE). It was designed by international architecture firm Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum. For achievements in library architecture, the university library earned the 2011 AIA/ALA Library Building Award.

  3. In Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) is a non-profit institution. Science, engineering, business, and management studies at Saudi Arabian institutions are highly recognized in the kingdom and around the region. According to the QS World University Rankings, KFUPM was rated 163rd in the world in 2022, and the third in the Arab area.


    The American National Academy of Inventors placed the institution fourth among the top 100 global colleges for awarding US Utility Patents in 2019, and 14th in 2020. Stanford University has published a list of the top 2% of the most-cited scientists across a variety of fields. There are 186,177 researchers on the list, with 81 of them conducting research at KFUPM.

  4. King Abdulaziz University (KAU) is a Saudi Arabian state university in Jeddah. It was founded in 1967 by a group of businesspeople led by Muhammad Abu Bakr Bakhashab and includes writer Hamza Bogary as a private university. Under the command of then-King Faisal, King Abdulaziz University was turned to a public university in 1974 by a vote of the Saudi Arabian Council of Ministers. Times Higher Education has recognized it as the best Arab university in 2021. Four main rating tables have ranked King Abdulaziz University among the top 200 universities in the world.


    Between 2004 and 2014, King Abdulaziz University implemented a campaign to attract overseas students, and almost 150 research projects or fields were accepted. The institution has established worldwide research partnerships, including a cooperative moon research program with the Astronomic Observatory of Oukameden in Morocco. The institution contains 13 research centers, most of which are focused on medicine (medical genomics and osteoperosis), the environment and energy, climate change, and desalination.


    Since 2020, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities, it has been rated between 101 and 150. In addition, King Abdulaziz University is placed 51 in the U.S. News & World Report Best Global University Ranking for 2020.   5. Alfaisal University is a coeducational, private, non-profit (teaching-oriented) higher education institution in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.


    The King Faisal Foundation established it in 2002. In 2008, the first students were accepted. Alfaisal presently has around 2500 students enrolled. Saudi nationals make up 67 percent of the student body, with students from more than 40 other countries accounting for the remaining 33 percent. There are almost 200 academic members, including foreign professors from 31 nations. Representatives from five enterprises, four overseas firms, and a representative from the Ministry of Education make up the Board of Trustees.


    Alfaisal, a genuinely aesthetically spectacular campus located on the austere grounds of His Majesty the Late King Faisal's palace in Riyadh's capital, is the crown gem of the globally renowned King Faisal Foundation.   6. King Khalid University is a Saudi Arabian public university located in Abha. In 1998, HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the Southern Region's Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and King Saud University to unite into one institution known as 'King Khalid University.


    Under the direction of the late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King Khalid University was founded in 1998. New institutions, including female colleges, were established over time. There are 29 colleges as of 2019, covering a wide range of fields such as engineering, computer science, and medicine. The rising population of the southern area necessitated the establishment of King Khalid University.   7. Najran University is a Saudi Arabian state-funded public research university that offers degrees in medicine, engineering, theology, computer science, and the humanities. Nano-Technology Research Center, Engineering and Scientific Research Center, Center for Sensors and Electronic Devices, and others are among the research centers and labs housed there. King Khalid University established Najran University as a community college. On November 11, 2006, King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz issued a royal command to transform Najran's community college into a self-sustaining university.

  8. Taif University is located in Hawiyya, an outlying neighborhood of Taif some 25 kilometers due north, within the grounds of King Saud's Palace. The 380,000-square-meter site comprises of three palaces that have been restored and remodeled in a way that blends modernity and technology with magnificent antiquity and traditional architecture on the one hand and traditional architecture on the other. The Government Palace houses the College of Education and the Central Library, while the University Administration is housed in the Residential Palace, which is connected to the Government Palace by a 200-meter hallway. The Heritage Museum will be housed in the third palace, which used to belong to the King's mother.
