Kone
Kone is an elevator engineering company with approximately 60,000 employees in 60 countries. It was formed in 1910 and is now located in Espoo, Finland, near Helsinki. Kone has been managed by the Herlin family since 1924. Harald Herlin bought the company in 1924 and was chairman until 1941. From 1941 to 1987, his son, Heikki H. Herlin, took over his father's position. Pekka Herlin joined Kone in 1954 and replaced his father as president in 1964. Antti Herlin, Pekka Herlin's son, has served as chairman since 2003. Antti Herlin owns 62% of the voting rights and 22% of the shares in the Nasdaq Helsinki-listed company as of December 2019.
