Valmet
Valmet is a Finnish corporation that is a global leader in the development and supply of process technology, automation, and services for the pulp, paper, and energy industries. They offer an even broader range of process industries with automation systems and flow control solutions.
Valmet, which was previously held by the Finnish government, was revived in December 2013 with the demerger of Metso Corporation's pulp, paper, and power operations. The company has been in business for over 220 years and has a good track record of ongoing improvement and renewal. A significant milestone was reached in 2022 when the flow control company Neles was incorporated into Valmet.
Maintenance outsourcing, mill and power plant enhancements, and spare parts are among the services provided by Valmet. The firm develops technologies for pulp, tissue, and board-and-paper mills, as well as bioenergy plants. Valmet operates in over 40 countries and employs around 17,000 people. Valmet's headquarters are in Espoo, and the firm is traded on the Nasdaq Helsinki exchange. Valmet's net sales in 2022 are expected to be over EUR 5.1 billion.
Valmet was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the sixth time in 2019. The company was included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World and Dow Jones Sustainability Europe indices. Furthermore, Valmet was named to the CDP's annual A-list of the finest firms for environmental transparency and performance in January 2020.
