Kudéta

Kudéta is one of the best restaurants in Madagascar. Playing on the region's reputation for political instability may not be very PC, but it would take a coup d'état to dethrone this sleek bar restaurant from its perch atop Tana's elite dining scene. The menu creatively uses local products to create a refined fusion meal that complements the elegant ethnic ambiance nicely. Reservations are strongly suggested.

The zebu is a constant motif – with foie gras, carpaccio, and ribs – but the menu is always consistent; for dessert, try the chocolate coulant with lime sorbet. There is a children's menu as well as a few vegetarian options.
