Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
Ranking the second place on our list of the best universities in Ghana is the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). It is a public Ghanaian university dedicated to science and technology. The Kwame Nkrumah Institution of Science and Technology is Ghana's first and largest public university, as well as the largest in the Kumasi Metropolis and the Ashanti Region. KNUST traces its origins to the aspirations of Agyeman Prempeh I, the Ashanti Realm's monarch, to construct a university in Kumasi as part of his efforts to modernize his kingdom. Due to a conflict between British empire expansion and King Prempeh I's wish to retain his Ashanti kingdom's independence, this plan never came to reality.
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has been considered first class and one of Ghana's top ten universities since its start. In the fields of science, technology, entrepreneurship, and research, the school is internationally recognized as a center of excellence. The institution has developed considerably throughout the years, upgrading and enrolling a greater number of Ghanaian students. The university has also been recognized and accredited by Ghana's National Accreditation Board. International students are also welcome at KNUST. As a result, you can apply and be accepted as an international student. The university's educational program is geared toward both domestic and foreign students.
