University of Cape Coast

The University of Cape Coast is a public college university situated in Cape Coast's historic town. The school lies on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and boasts a rare coastal location. It has two campuses: one in the south and another in the north (New Site). Elmina and Cape Coast Castle, two of Ghana's most prominent historical landmarks, are within a few kilometers from the university's campus.

The University of Cape Coast began as a university institution in October 1962, in response to the country's desperate need for highly trained and talented workers in the education sector. Its original aim was to provide graduate instructors for second cycle schools, teacher training colleges, and technical institutions, a role that the two existing public universities were ill-equipped to carry out at the time.

It is not just one of Ghana's top ten institutions, but also one of Africa's most popular and well-ranked universities. The National Accreditation Board of Ghana approved the University of Cape Coast, which was founded to develop highly trained and educated intellectuals. Because of its demonstrated track record in creating very successful and brilliant brains throughout the world, this elite institution has been regarded as one of Ghana's top ten greatest universities. This prestigious Ghanaian institution has a stringent admission procedure based on candidates' previous academic records and ratings. International students are also welcome to apply for admission to the university.
